Howdy Howdy Howdy!!!

Wrestling with neurodivergence happened when an autistic person (Lisa) introduced their two best friends with ADHD (Gary & Amanda) to their hyperfocus and then got them hooked.  It’s an irreverent take on wrestling.  We’re not your typical play-by-play wrestling podcast.  That’s what makes us special.  We talk about wrestling, the wrestlers, we go off topic (as is wont to do when you’re having a conversation with ADHD), and we get back on topic, and we tie it all back to being neurodivergent.  We have a bitch count, a thirstometer, and CTE alerts – trust us, it’s fun!

Lisa watches AEW to “quiet the ants in my brain.” This is their journey of unmasking, and you’re invited along.  We are LGBTQIA+ friendly (heck, Lisa is Queer and non-binary!), we keep it rated PG-13 / TV-14, and you don’t have to be a wrestling fan to listen and enjoy.

Tune in weekly as we discuss AEW Dynamite (airing Wednesdays on TBS)!

Commonly Used Terms on the Show

Thirstometer: Lisa gets thirsty as hell, so at the end of each match she rates the wrestlers on a scale of 1 – 10 Diet Cokes (10 being the thirstiest).  Some occasions  call for the rare 11/10 Diet Cokes (i.e. Swerve Strickland in a purple eyeshadow) or the ominous Diet Pepsi rating (i.e. Chris Jericho’s sparkly boots).  Obviously the ratings are subjective.

CTE Alert: CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) is a neurodegenerative disease linked to repeated trauma to the head.  Any time a wrestler uses their head to headbutt or take a chair shot to the head, even though we’re aware they are trained professionals, we do a CTE alert.  It still scares Amanda, and she wants them to wear helmets.

Bitch Count: This started after Kazuchika Okada aligned with the EVPs/Young Bucks thus becoming a heel.  At the end of his promos he’d call his opponent a bitch in such a way that Lisa started pointing it out.  It was a very exaggerated way to say the word; very purposeful if you will. That is how the count started.  Now anytime anyone says “bitch,” it is counted.
